it appears from the preliminary indications we do have
that the usa gained or would have gained enormously from the
readoption of the island allocation line of 1867 in the maritime
territorial treaty of 1990
so these 8 islands
which were already untenable or dubious anyway
would have been a small price for the usa to pay for such gain
until evidently the duma recognized & called the game
aha
so i would be fascinated to learn if the secret baker
shevardnadze deal really trumped the duma & legally finalized
the treaty anyway
or not
& what secret quid pro quo might have been in it for the soviets
&or for shevardnadze
but there may also be another clue in the following observation
of the dissenting american senators
linked in message 8415
the state dept frequently regards legitimate american interests
as obstacles to the accomplishment of its grandiose plans for
an international order based upon the subordination of global
sovereignty to a global governmental regime
wow
& i would like to know how the senators got here too
i mean from any of the 8 disregarded islands
whew
not to mention how the state dept got there
to its grandiose plans
