Dear colleagues,

I would be grateful if you could circulate the following job
announcement to anyone who may be interested:

The International Boundaries Research Unit is seeking to appoint a
highly motivated individual to undertake UK-based historical,
geographical and technical research on three African land boundaries
under the supervision of IBRU's Director of Research. The candidate will
be expected to contribute to the preparation of the resulting boundary
reports and to research reports on other international land and maritime
boundary issues as required.

Candidates should have a higher degree in international boundary studies
or a related discipline, along with strong research skills and an
ability to work to deadlines.

The post is fixed term for 1 year in the first instance, although this
may be extended subject to further funding becoming available.

Full details of the post and an online application form are available at
http://www.dur.ac.uk/Personnel/vacancies/A2053.htm. The deadline for
submission of applications is 18 December and we hope to conduct
interviews during the week commencing 6 January 2003.

If you have any questions that are not addressed in the further
particulars at the above web site, please feel free to drop me a line or
give me a call.

With thanks and best wishes,

m a r t i n
