the tripoint falls at the thalweg junction of the tigris & khabur rivers<br/>
<br/>
you can see the much narrower khabur entering the broad tigris<br/>
at far left center in each case<br/>
<br/>
syria is in the foreground on the near side of the tigris<br/>
while turkey is at far left on the right bank of the khabur<br/>
& iraq is the much larger area opposite turkey & syria<br/>
filling out the center & upper right of all the photos<br/>
<br/>
the blowup of the second photo clearly shows the braids of the tigris<br/>
so you can imagine the tripoint falling in the most major one of these<br/>
just a hair downstream or toward the right edge of the confluence area<br/>
