Here are some pics of the Dubai-Sharjah border, where the border touches the lagoon. Though this border is a strictly internal border between Sharjah and Dubai, both of which are actually Kingdoms ruled by 'Emirs', the general atmosphere at the border is that of an international border between well-meaning neighbors like Canusa. In the past, before the formation of the United Arab Emirates, Sharjah and Dubai had many border disputes and the issue was finally resolved by demarcation of the border which you can see in the pics. The Red and White border posts are the original border demarcators. The fence is put up by the Dubai Government on its side of the border. The third pic about public decency is interesting.
