I had a meeting at a conservation facility in Fort Langley, BC today... the have all sorts of rare animals and neat creatures like giraffes and rhinos.  However, as I drove back to Vancouver on the Trans-Canada (#1), it was all I could do not to venture down to Zero Ave. again.

Even though I've seen it and driven it countless times, it still amazes me that this simple road is the boundary between the US and Canada.  No fences.  No armies.  Nothing.  Except for the odd Border Patrol & tower Cameras.

I think about all the press the border gets -- and then see nothing more than an open field -- and I laugh.  It is so important -- yet so... invisible!

Humans are strange.
