since i havent found any yahoo group with more messages than
bp has racked up
bravo fellow sandcastlers
& since several of the yahoo templates appear to allow enough
space only for 4 digits but not for so many as 5
i think one has to allow for the possibility that we may be
approaching a sort of y2k interface as of message 9999 plus 1
or in only about 2400 messages from now

therefore
why not post drink & be merry etc now as much as you like
including messages files links photos etc the whole works
& expect a tsunami & the need for a fresh startup at that point
& be pleasantly surprised if nothing of the sort does happen
just as we were in the case of the real bogus y2k

of course we could try to discipline ourselves to be more
focussed or more pertinent
or even disallow &or delete all fluff so as to make more space
but i think that would be a highly uneveryonese activity
& not worth thinking about a moment longer

also a fresh startup would hardly be the end of the world

several societies are known to deliberately destroy everything
periodically so renewal & change can occur
& so the folly of living in the past can be kept to a minimum

we might even want to consider cloning bp into several groups
right now
since we can
not only to create more space
but also to keep abreast of the present & look forward to the
future

perhaps doubling up on messages might be fun too
like for instance
black & white stripes on traffic light poles may help to alert
people who are color blind that they are approaching an
intersection
& they may also help people who are not color blind to
distinguish the light poles from the barber poles
