well yes it doesnt show up on the usgs maps
so it is easy enough to believe ones eyes
& voila qed
but even the usgs stresses that they are not the final arbiter

here we are talking about the internal boundaries of the usa
where the baseline method you are suggesting doesnt apply

the supreme court has ruled more than once on oyster beds

& in an identical double standard situation where oil is involved
specifically around latxus off the mouth of the sabine river
you can see at topozone that usgs has avoided the issue entirely
