the double culmination of a 4day obsession with conutx & nutatx<br/>
aka coahuila nuevoleon texas & nuevoleon tamaulipas texas<br/>
as reported in real time in the message sequence 5213 5219 5220 5221 5223 <br/>
5230 5243<br/>
tho frankly the latter 2 messages alone are more than enough as background <br/>
at this point<br/>
<br/>
of necessity the conutx pic was shot almost directly into the setting sun<br/>
& it is amazing that it came out at all<br/>
<br/>
the dimple at center horizon is an observatory atop the mexican bluff<br/>
& which some maps place directly upon the conu line<br/>
so i used it & the fencepost in the foreground<br/>
which stands roughly opposite upon the american bluff<br/>
to center the presumed tripoint<br/>
<br/>
between the 2 bluffs is a mile or 2 of fairly impenetrable flood plain<br/>
<br/>
the bright thin line just below & parallel to the middle horizon marks the <br/>
river bed itself<br/>
so the tripoint is presumably hiding from direct view at center frame just <br/>
within that slight dip<br/>
making this hard won trophy actually no better than a class e as in exray <br/>
photo<br/>
<br/>
a second exray shot was taken from the colombia bridge facing upstream<br/>
with the tripoint again out of view but in that case just around a bend in <br/>
the river<br/>
& this second exray is omitted here<br/>
because it is no improvement on the first<br/>
& essentially just a flopping of the conutx pic that is also attached<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
this latter equally hard won conutx pic however<br/>
facing downstream from the same bridge<br/>
is itself very probably good enough for a class d<br/>
since the most credible maps show this tripoint just above the river bend & <br/>
therefore within this photo<br/>
<br/>
the new colombia bridge & environs are a maximum security nafta <br/>
transshipment hub<br/>
probably the busiest freight crossing anywhere on mxus<br/>
with no pedestrians or cameras allowed<br/>
<br/>
all 3 pix were taken in stealth & under extreme duress<br/>
after sneaking around explicitly forbidding border guards & landowners<br/>
so there was a bit of hell to pay when i was discovered in both cases<br/>
but the pix were already in the can by then<br/>

of course one doesnt mind getting caught on the way out<br/>
