grant
adding a postscript to my proposed footnote
having had a closer look at this spratly distribution map
i believe we can now complete the defacto default territorial survey
of the globe
by simply giving full effect to the occupation of these islands
as well as for the territorial waters that go with them
& thus reaching the following fairly simple scheme

all the my & ph & vn islands apparently produce sufficient seas to
maintain contiguity with their respective motherlands

the single tw island produces a single tiny tw exclave

& the 10 ch islands apparently produce 3 much larger cn exclaves
with the westernmost island alone accounting for 1 of these
& the easternmost 5 islands together producing a second
& the remaining 4 islands the third

bn has no islands & no exclaves

double checking for accuracy
as well as determining all the resulting multipoints
will have to await better maps
but it seems to me that all the frags & perfs based on dry land areas
& the projected seas are now at least accounted for
at least as of these 1996 data

only the best we can do
yet also enough to finish the job
i think
