Today I realised that both the attached maps have been lying on my desk <br/>
beside the computer for a couple of weeks, without my having noticing <br/>
that between them they more or less halve the diameter of the Earth.<br/>
The first one, from the cover of an instruction booklet for a PDA <br/>
keyboard, is more or less to be expected. The second, from the cover of <br/>
Prescott&#39;s &quot;Maritime Boundaries&quot;, must have brought forth an involuntary <br/>
shriek from the great man.<br/>
