As well as being the northernmost (confirmed) point of land in the<br/>
world, the ATOW1996 island is also the nearest to the centre of the<br/>
Earth you can stand on dry land. (Although much of Antarctica is at<br/>
higher latitudes, its altitude is well above sea level.)<br/>
