The Lithuanian Geographic Map 1:50.000 is now publish on cd rom, in 135 map
sheet. The main topographic features, administrative boundaries are
presented in the map. Precision of the map is 10 - 20 m in nature. Enclosed
is a cut including the northeastern city of Ignalina where the nuclear
electric site is situated. To the east of the city I found that a small
unnamed islet (waipointed) in the Lake of Drukshiai which after the last
unfinished delimination now is devided between by and lt. According to my
SSSR maps it former belonged to Lithuania.
(Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus last week stated that Lithuania should
not care the EU pressure and therefor not close the nuclear site down in
2009 as earlier planned.)
