That double loop the (non-Danube) Croatian/Yugoslavian border takes
just south of the tripoint with Hungary seems to follow a canalised
tributary of the Danube which is labelled "Ferenc-csat." once it
enters Hungary on my 1996 1:850000 map. As far as I can see from older
maps, it wasn't canalised as early as 1945 - I wonder if border, river
and canal all follow the same line, or if the canalisation has shaken
the watercourse loose from the old border?
