Norway looses land to Finland

Oslo: Norway has lost an island to Finland. It is situated in the middle of the border-river Anarjohka by the lake Vuolit Galgujarvi, about 70 km from Karasjok. After three years of examinations, the conclusion is the fact that the island was Finnish, and now all that remains is the formalities before the island can be handed over to Finland, says Aftenposten (Norweigan newspaper).
Even though Finland nor Norway have any strategical interests on the island, which is about 1000 square-meters, the new delimitation will be the main result of the examination - an examination that is done every 25 year. The border between Norway and Finland is 736 km long. (TT)

Note 1: I found this news article in the paper edition of Göteborgs-Posten, I have not fond the article in the internet editions of the newspapers nor att TT.

Note 2: If you compare figures between the English and the Swedish text,  1 mil = 10 km

(TT)
