OK, I think I've got this thing working. It now picks up palindromes
consisting of one or more words within a string, up to the entire
string. Of the 17000 Antarctic names provided by the USGS, the
following are the palindromes - all qualified, as you might expect
from the absence of permanent habitation. (Although it's not useful,
it perked me up and reassured me that things were working properly
when the program spotted the palindrome at the end of "Iles Shetland
du Sud".)
The odd ordering is because I search in descending order of latitude.

Puerto Oro, Roca Eme, Hannah Point, Islotes Mom, Ulu Peninsula, Kayak
Bay, Anna Cove, Cape Anna (=Cabo Ana), Pup Cove, Bob Island, Tot
Island, Pip Cliffs, Pup Rock, Renner Peak, Ebbe Glacier, Mount Noxon,
Merrem Peak, Hannah Island, Tot Pond, Level Valley, Kanak Peak, Mount
Massam, Hannah Peak, Mount Ege, Hannah Ridge, Massam Glacier, Mom Peak

But I promise I won't post any huge lists to burden the mailboxes of
the palindromically apathetic ...
