The Fahr monastery is an enclave of the canton of Aargau in the
canton of Zuerich (Switzerland). Some really nice information can be
read on the site of the municipality of Wuerenlos (
http://www.wuerenlos.ch/go.cfm?bereich=kultur&seite=KlosterFahr.cfm )

Here you can read that the monastery, which lies just outside the
city of Zuerich, is administratively part of the canton of Aargau and
the district of Baden, but doesn't belong to any municipality
(according to a treaty). For practical purposes, the municipality of
Wuerenlos performs the essential services, and the inhabitants of the
monastery can vote in the municipal elections. See the downloadable
file "Das Verhältnis Kloster Fahr - Gemeinde Würenlos". A map of the
enclave can be seen at "Grundriss der Klosteranlage". The boundary
can be clearly seen. The site mentions that the Girls' Agricultural
School (the monastery is famous for it) is outside of the enclave,
but the inn "Zu den 2 Raben" ("At the 2 Ravens") is within.

The map at http://xagisims.ag.ch/scripts/esrimap.dll?name=AGIS-
IMS&Cmd=Map shows the enclave as well: it is the tiny blue dot on the
right. You can zoom in by clicking on "Vergroessern" and clicking on
the map.

So another monastery-enclave in Switzerland, after the Appenzell ones
(that at least I didn't know of).
