Just found it on the Royal Danish Library and put in a borrowing request.

the book was a "gift" from the canadian people to the american people. it was published in just the year 1976 to commemorate the usa bicentennial.

it was on my to-be-bought list for years. i stumbled upon one in a used book store in boston in the early 80s.

tracking one down is difficult. although now there are used and rare book sites on the web, which should make it easier.

Do you have more details about Between Frinds?

I am trying to track it down!

m-

i drove past the hoganburg's fire department years ago (1979 to be exact)
and remember its slogan with two flags: one from usa and one from canada.
so, they are probably not counting akwesasne.

i was driving from detroit to southern connecticut and took the "long way",
i.e. via ontario, canada. i had just purchased the book "between friends"
and took the opportunity to visit many of the border interests that were
portrayed in that book: hoganburg, point rouses, derby line, norton.

never did have to explain to others why an approximate 2 day, 900 mile trip
took me double that. i thought i was a member of club of one...in fact,
never met anyone with my border interests until just a few years ago, thanks
to the internet. :>)

regards,

bob
