  or  the usgs is right on the paper topo<br/>
    less likely<br/>
      but they could know something we dont<br/>

& your question about whether the original 1891 tripoint position still <br/>
falls in the river in 2001 is a good & hard one<br/>
because there is evidence on several usgs topos of both avulsion & army <br/>
engineering all over this river<br/>
but especially at this location<br/>

& any coincidence of river & mnndsd at this late date would be purely er <br/>
coincidental<br/>
  yet quite possible i admit<br/>

however my own best available measurements & recall at this time dont seem <br/>
to me to offer much hope of such an exact coincidence<br/>
