<div id="ygrps-yiv-1571369508">We did break the record for charter expenses - $US680 for two people <br/>
round trip from Points North Landing to Hasbala Lake.  I believe we <br/>
paid nearly the entire cost of the freight flight for Hasbala Lake <br/>
Lodge.  In retrospect, or for future adventurers, it might be better <br/>
to book the flight for exclusive use (about $US750) and then sell the <br/>
excess freight capacity to Hasbala Lake Lodge at a discount.  We <br/>
didn&#39;t do this because Mo Miller (Hasabala lodge operator) also <br/>
provided dockage, a boat, and a guide.  I felt this would ensure our <br/>
success.  It would have been maddening to travel all the way up there <br/>
and then have some problem that prevented us from reaching the <br/>
point.  A boat on Hasbala Lake is very important because travel from <br/>
the lodge to the point via land would be tough, a couple miles of <br/>
muskeg and a hazardous crossing of the outlet river.  The plane could <br/>
have carried a canoe but the day we visited it was quite windy on the <br/>
lake (30-40 knots) and the landing near the monument is not obvious. <br/>
Oh yeah, and the water was about 60 degrees F.  My recommendation is <br/>
to pay for the gear and expertise.<br/>
