Hi Marcel (and welcome of course),

It is not the first time that language boundaries have been discussed
here (although it is a while ago), but I am wondering if you can help
me here. As far as I know, Catalan is spoken in 1. Catalonia (the
region), 2. North-Catalonia a.k.a. the French departement of the
Eastern Pyrenees, 3. the eastern rim of Aragon, along the border with
Catalonia, 4. the Valencia region (not all of it though), 5.
L'Alguer/Alghero on Sardinia, 6. Andorra, and 7. a small part in the
province of Murcia. And it is this last part I want to ask you about.
I once saw this on a language map, but have never seen it since. Can
you tell me which part of Murcia this is (probably a very small
part), and how many speakers of Catalan live there? And is it legally
protected in any way?

Are there any other parts where Catalan is spoken?

I don't speak it (nor Castilian), but I can boast to speak a bit of
Basque...
