>Dear Marcel - bienvenido en este grupo de locos de fronteras (right?)
It’s right, but my own language is the catalan, so it would
be “benvingut a aquest grup de bojos de fronteres”
Thank you!

>Marcel, una pregunta/just one question: have you been to the two
tripoints with Andorra?
No. As far I know, the west one is only accessible by trained
alpinists ( is the pic de Medacorba, at 2914m. )
The east one is La Portella Blanca d’Andorra, at 2520m. It’s more
accessible.

>Llivia. Have you been there? How is it to live there, and what are
people living from? Does the French neighborhood make much influence on
the daily life for this Spanish community?
Yes, of course I’ve been there. There’s no much difference with the
neighbouring villages, french or spanish. As you know, the Pyrenees
treaty cut Catalonia in two parts, but when we cross the frontier we
are as our home because we share the same catalan language and culture.
With the Schengen treaty, the border is less important now because
there aren’t douane or police controls, and soon the money will be the
same. I have just read a very interesting book of Peter
Sahlins “Boundaries:the making of France and Spain in the Pyrenees”,
about the Pyrenees treaty and its influence over the Cerdanya valley –
artificially divided between Spain and France - and specially about the
Llívia case.

Marcel
