With the discussion on what the status of the border/tripoint/condo
situation is in Lake Constance we can now add a new wrinkle. Starting
Aug. 15th the Zeppelin company will begin 6 daily 1 hour tourist
flights of the Lake in its new airship. The Zeppelin company of the
Hindenburg fame, has created a new airship that will take ~12 tourists
around Lake Constance and possible float over where the tripoint
should be.

For those who do not know the Count Zeppelin and the Zeppelin company
are from the Lake Constance area. The Count was born in Constance and
the Zeppelins were built in Friedrichshafen. In Friedrichshafen there
is a Zeppelin Museum which contains a partial reconstruction of the
main cabin area of the Hindenburg.

Last year I took a trip to Germany seeing Berlin with out the Wall and
was lucky to have the opportunity to see Lake Constance and the
Zeppelin Museum. Unfortunately the only boarder I crossed while there
was between Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemburg twice. It is interesting to
see that the German state borders in that area as Bavaria has a small
pan handle so that is has a city (Lindau) on the Lake.

I took some picture of my trip including a few of the Berlin Wall and
Lindau which are available online at
