I only have a 1:50000 topo map of this area, and on this map the
boundary is drawn in the middle of the road.

The southern marker is no. 263, and the northern one no. 267.

But: markers no. 263, 264, and 265 are possibly pairs! This I deduct
from the notation: Gpn (grenspalen, i.e. plural) instead of Gp
(grenspaal, singular). I think I can positively identify on my map
264 as being a pair, one one each side of the road. But the map is
not very clear, so I may be wrong. If these markers are pairs, and
there are also intermediate pairs (e.g. numbered 263a, 263b etc.),
then it looks like the border on your map is drawn from marker to
marker.

One last remark: the wooded, and generally countryside-like
appearance on the German side of the border (Staatsforst Hambach) is
not really according to the facts. The fact is that a big NATO air
force base is located there (Geilenkirchen AFB), but this base is
still generally omitted from maps. The base commander has on several
occasions asked the mayor of Onderbanken (of which Schinveld is a
part) to cut part of the Heringsbosch down, because these trees are
right in the way of the air base approach. A couple of years ago a
big tanker aircraft just missed the border and crashed in Germany. So
the "if anything happens" of Peter H. is not hypothetical at all!
