<div id="ygrps-yiv-436861433">I only have a 1:50000 topo map of this area, and on this map the <br/>
boundary is drawn in the middle of the road.<br/>

The southern marker is no. 263, and the northern one no. 267.<br/>
<br/>
But: markers no. 263, 264, and 265 are possibly pairs! This I deduct <br/>
from the notation: Gpn (grenspalen, i.e. plural) instead of Gp <br/>
(grenspaal, singular). I think I can positively identify on my map <br/>
264 as being a pair, one one each side of the road. But the map is <br/>
not very clear, so I may be wrong. If these markers are pairs, and <br/>
there are also intermediate pairs (e.g. numbered 263a, 263b etc.), <br/>
then it looks like the border on your map is drawn from marker to <br/>
marker.<br/>

One last remark: the wooded, and generally countryside-like <br/>
appearance on the German side of the border (Staatsforst Hambach) is <br/>
not really according to the facts. The fact is that a big NATO air <br/>
force base is located there (Geilenkirchen AFB), but this base is <br/>
still generally omitted from maps. The base commander has on several <br/>
occasions asked the mayor of Onderbanken (of which Schinveld is a <br/>
part) to cut part of the Heringsbosch down, because these trees are <br/>
right in the way of the air base approach. A couple of years ago a <br/>
big tanker aircraft just missed the border and crashed in Germany. So <br/>
the &quot;if anything happens&quot; of Peter H. is not hypothetical at all!<br/>
