| > Dear boundary freaks, attached pls find three pictures from the Estonian-Russian border, taken by Andres, our new member from Estonia, in August last year. Also attached a map of the Ee-Ru border region, scale 1:150.000, where the  location of his pictures can be spotted - plus a diagram conc. this peculiar boundary line...! Should my scan turn out to be unclear, here's Andres' explanation from the letter: quote: "In addition, as you can see in the map, according to Estonian-Russian agreement between foreign ministries, there will be some changes near the village "Sesniki". But this needs to be ratified by Russian Parliament - therefore the situation remains the same because of bad relations". *also an interesting place - the village "Dupki". -end quote- Additional remarks received by mail: the yellow tapes that can be spotted on the left hand side of the road on pix 2+3 are temporary boundary markers by the Estonian gov't in order to warn people against illegal crossings... both boundary markers to be admired are Russian... (and b.marker no. 485 must be a lucky one... dear GCEBE participants: this must be lesson one in how to seduce boundary markers...!-personal remark Peter H.) Attachments being sent in two mails!!!! Regards Peter H. | |||
