I think Drei Steine is the tripoint, although there aren't three
stones there, but at benl boundary marker no. 1.

The numbers 193 and higher are the old Dutch-Prussian boundary
markers (no. 1 was near Schengen and is now on the defrlu "tripoint",
the last number, 862, is at Driland near Overdinkel, the old tripoint
the Netherlands-Prussia-Hanover, now the place the North Rhineland-
Westphalia - Lower Saxony border touches the denl border). The bede
boundary is of a later date (the Eastern Cantons of Belgium belonged
to Prussia when the Dutch-Prussian boundary was drawn), and that's
why they have a different numbering (the "thousand"-numbers).

, then running north with numbers like 193L, 194E.

The reason for that is that the be parts are taken from be topo maps,
and the nl parts from nl topo maps. This is why the benl boundary
looks different on this German map than the German borders.

Yes

It is the long and narrow strip of Germany at bdy. markers 1024-1026.
