British and American contestants are invited to participate in the
on-line 2006 Geography Cup Challenge at any time through December 31.
You must register (free) to participate, and your IP address is checked
to be sure that you are in the proper country. The URL is
http://www.geographycup.com . It's a lot of fun. Use your geographic
knowledge to increase your country's score.

You will be asked to identify ten randomly selected countries on a world
map and answer three questions by the same means during a generous
two-minute time limit.

Tips: Click the appropriate part of the whole-world inset in the upper
left to pan the large main map instantly to view the part of the world
that you need. Using the directional arrows to pan takes too much time.
The toothpick-like icons sticking in the main map are clickable markers
for micro-nations and islands. Use them to select the corresponding
locations.
