seems to depict the tripoint at the intersection of a<br/>
geodetic line & the arax river<br/>

& the ibs confirms the old turkish soviet border<br/>
followed the thalweg of this river<br/>
<br/>
the peculiar difficulty in reading the topo is that<br/>
the amaz convergent sidles up to the river at an<br/>
extremely acute angle <br/>
& this in an area congested with a variety of other<br/>
symbols to boot<br/>
<br/>
indeed depending on the accuracy of the map & the<br/>
precision of this presumably unmarked geodetic<br/>
boundary <br/>
& the variable location of the thalweg <br/>
the tripoint position could conceivably slide hundreds<br/>
of meters up & down the river with even slight<br/>
variations in the flow<br/>
<br/>
however the river hereabouts appears to be fairly<br/>
stable over time <br/>
so the mobility of the tripoint may well be more<br/>
apparent than actual<br/>
<br/>
still <br/>
where exactly is amaztr hiding<br/>
<br/>
the attached tripoint stretching diagram represents my<br/>
not especially confident best guess<br/>
& could easily be several hundred meters too far<br/>
upstream <br/>
but i dont think so <br/>
