& as you can see with the help of these fine zoomable
maps
http://kansalaisen.karttapaikka.fi/kartanhaku/osoitehaku.html?lang=en-GB
http://www.gis.lst.se/lanskartor/
all 5 finnish & all 3 swedish municipal boundaries
that meet fise appear to terminate at the
international thalweg that is currently under review

reference maps & lists reading from north to south in
each case

enontikio muonio
kolari muonio
kolari pello
pello ylitornio
tornio ylitornio

kiruna pajala
overtornea pajala
haparanda overtornea

so
that would appear to add up to 8 municipal tripoints
in all under review
& just a minor curiosity probably not even worth
mentioning
since how far could they really move anyway

except

oddly enough

the northernmost pair of these communal lines very
much appear to meet at a quadripoint

shades of the binational secondary quadripoint
nose2janontvb

but in this case it would be a binational tertiary
quadripoint fise2llnb3enkimupa

some sort of a strange scandinavian custom perhaps

in any case i havent noticed anything quite like these
anywhere else in the world

but it raises the question
if 4 town lines do indeed meet at odd angles to form a
quadripoint
as these appear to do
& the thalweg that carries 2 of them shifts
even just ever so slightly
then wouldnt the quadripoint break up into 2 very
close tripoints
