thanx to the improvement just made by the additional<br/>
palindrological analysis<br/>
or rather synthesis <br/>
from ratlar bights to painless professor larbig & his<br/>
curious assistant <br/>
as the overall palindromic karatage assay for<br/>
gibraltar thus rises slightly <br/>
from about 12 to maybe 14 karats i would guess<br/>
as does correspondingly my opinion of gibraltars<br/>
analogical value too<br/>
& her overall fitness to even be in the company of the<br/>
others<br/>
however we may eventually decide between sevastopol &<br/>
vladivostok<br/>

if we were to decide on the strength of their best &<br/>
leanest & most natural palindrome alone<br/>
i dont think there is any question sevastopol would<br/>
win<br/>
but since i also think gibraltars better palindrome is<br/>
her longer one<br/>
vladivostok cant be counted out for the extra length<br/>
she fairly requires to make her point<br/>
or gibraltar would have to be correspondingly<br/>
discounted <br/>
if not entirely eliminated from consideration<br/>
on account of her correspondingly greater synthesis<br/>
now too <br/>

so for those reasons i dont think palindrological<br/>
analysis alone will settle anything or even serve as a<br/>
tiebreak if we cant see the merits of analogy alone in<br/>
determining the merits of the analogy<br/>

but i would say after all this additional reflection<br/>
& in the absence of further word from the most<br/>
interested parties<br/>
that the most obvious fact about both guantanamo &<br/>
gibraltar is that they are geographically outside the<br/>
imperial motherland<br/>
a situation which<br/>
at least at the present time<br/>
corresponds more exactly to sevastopol than to<br/>
vladivostok<br/>
even if in other ways vladivostok matches guantanamo<br/>
as well as gibraltar better<br/>

but maybe that just means we just need to combine all<br/>
the trial balloons in this case rather than<br/>
necessarily pop any of them<br/>

it is a lovely ensemble in any case<br/>
