the news we have long been expecting
http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060124/NEWS/601240371/1006

for the general location of this proposed bp liquid
natural gas tanker terminal
http://www.duke-energy.com/businesses/trans/pipelines/us/development/logan.asp

so the pierhead would presumably reach about the
position shown by the red cursor cross here
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4405073&e=464136&s=50&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25

& thus if a tanker blew while unloading there &
necessarily fried everything within a mile or more
it would easily obliterate not only the adjacent
monsanto chemical plant & the denjpa tripoint location

at least above the water line
but also the sunoco marcus hook refinery that
straddles the depa state line on the far side of the
river
which would in turn fry everything within another mile
or more
etc
etc

the first attachment shows the 1934 denj boundary
monument number 1 indicated on the topo
& which was the leading court ordered result of the
previous denj supreme court case
http://www.rdms.udel.edu/dgs/boundary/ID129.html

it marks indirectly at a distance of about 2000 feet
the new jersey end of the new castle arc
which falls actually at the low tide line
as shown on the topo about halfway from there to
denjpa

for this map is in error insofar as the denj state
line actually follows the low tide line everywhere
within the 12mile circle

the marker is situated on the fenced & gated & closely
restricted grounds of the monsanto plant & chemical
dump
just upriver from & actually right next door to the bp
facility
from which i was able to sneak in circa 1998 thru a
rusty old back track railroad gate that someone forgot
to lock

the second pic is a view from about the same location
facing the denjpa tripoint at midriver
for a class d peek
& the sunoco refinery beyond it
but unimpeded now by the chain link fence in the first
pic
& indeed with the tripoint deliberately centered &
even teed up there for your viewing pleasure upon the
hazmat yellow stack pipe i also found near the arc
line just above the rock dike

the third & fourth pic attachments show the
corresponding 1892 witness rock on the other side of
the river situated directly upon the depa arc just
above the bulkhead in the sunoco refinery
tho it is curiously not shown on the topo

& this is the right rock ok but they have the year
wrong
http://www.rdms.udel.edu/dgs/boundary/ID177.html

there i finessed a night visit after being denied
entry & sneaking in anyway & then appealing to the
guard who caught me at the monument
to let me take his picture illuminating it for me

the 5th pic shows an almost equally sneaky but far
more distant class d view of the tripoint location as
well as the sunoco refinery to its right & the
monsanto & bp facilities to its left

we are now slightly beyond the most probable
incineration range

it was purloined from the slow lane at road speed with
someone on my rear bumper
on the chester aka us322 bridge a couple of miles
above there
as you can also see by panning nw up the river on the
topo
keeping my other hand on the steering wheel of course
