& indeed much closer to the masanga on your map than mongoumba<br/>
or in other words just above the next left bank tributary confluence that is shown on both <br/>
this old map & encarta<br/>
tho there is no longer any trace of masanga on maps of the present era<br/>
<br/>
& at encarta you can even see the village of mboulou that is mentioned by brownlie as well <br/>
as the tripointing tributary evidently <br/>
which he calls the gouga river in the extract below<br/>

tripoint is presumptively on thalweg of ubangi river<br/>
