<br/>
pennsylvania state route 2006 aka log tavern road in<br/>
dingmans township pennsylvania was selected for this<br/>
years bp multidimensional inaugural tour in preference<br/>
to its numerical counterparts in kentucky or texas or<br/>
anywhere else for that matter<br/>
not only because this particular highway was the<br/>
closest route 2006 to where i happened to be when 2006<br/>
arrived<br/>
but most poignantly too because it is itself a<br/>
multiple thing<br/>
comprising actually at least 4 unquestionably<br/>
disconnected & distinct routes <br/>
in far flung parts of the keystone state <br/>
all having this single name of pennsylvania state<br/>
route 2006<br/>
<br/>
the 3 pix of the tour are ho hum btw <br/>
so skip right to the freshly grafittoed njnypa diagram<br/>
in the 4th attachment<br/>
if visual excitement is all you want<br/>
<br/>
but anyway <br/>
the eastern end indicator of route 2006 <br/>
where i began the inaugural tour <br/>
is shown in the first pic attachment<br/>
& is identical to the start indicator posted 4 miles<br/>
to the west<br/>
except the start arrow reads 0 & points the other way<br/>
of course in that case<br/>
<br/>
& the only street name signpost i saw is shown in the<br/>
second pic<br/>
<br/>
prominent directional arrows to both lords valley &<br/>
mount haven egged me on on the westward processional<br/>
but an octagonal gazebo was the first remarkable sight<br/>
on the left side<br/>
followed shortly on the right by an even more<br/>
remarkable octagonal house<br/>
<br/>
since the year number 2006 itself already adds up to 8<br/>
<br/>
i figured there we had a multidimensional lock on 8<br/>
already within the first half mile of play<br/>
<br/>
but just to move right along with the pix<br/>
i will tell you i was already in the eastward or<br/>
recessional lap contenting myself with merely taking<br/>
note of such outstanding objects as these <br/>
& remarkable names & other words on the land etc <br/>
before i saw the 4 deer grazing on the side of the<br/>
road<br/>
one of which you might be able to see in the gmane<br/>
enlargement of the 3rd pic only with luck<br/>
<br/>
& since these deer didnt move or even look up at<br/>
traffic <br/>
i may even have missed them there on my westbound pass<br/>
a few moments earlier<br/>
<br/>
& of course the main omen i was seeking in the short<br/>
space of these 4 miles<br/>
or really it was 10 miles on the odometer as the round<br/>
trip & fully expanded tour actually evolved<br/>
would as usual be <br/>
whatever especially presented itself<br/>
but most especially the creaturehood<br/>
which of course trumps everything<br/>
<br/>
so since i couldnt just stop there in traffic<br/>
& wanted to be sure the 4 deer i spotted & counted was<br/>
all of them<br/>
& also wanted to take a pic <br/>
etc<br/>
i quickly turned about <br/>
& drove past them again<br/>
<br/>
& turned & returned again <br/>
<br/>
& again<br/>
<br/>
trying to get off a shot with traffic on my ass etc<br/>
<br/>
my camera even jammed once<br/>
<br/>
until finally on the 7th of my 8 passes i managed to<br/>
barely bag this doe here in the 3rd pic<br/>
<br/>
tho you may only be able to see her white rump against<br/>
the trees & black legs in the snow<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
on the 8th & final pass they were gone<br/>
so that was the best i could do<br/>
but the portent was stunning even if i didnt bring it<br/>
back alive<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
& since the year 2006 itself already subtracts itself<br/>
down to 4<br/>
& this route 2006 is itself 4 miles long<br/>
i figured this was a second & even stronger<br/>
multidimensional lock <br/>
on 4<br/>
perhaps both complementing & trumping the earlier lock<br/>
on 8<br/>
<br/>
but clearly<br/>
i thought<br/>
2006 is already looking like a year of destiny for<br/>
quadripointing & or octapointing<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
& i proceeded appropriately <br/>
tho not directly <br/>
to the nearby quadriarea of nj & ny & pa & njpa<br/>
<br/>
for i detoured instead across the njpa delaware river<br/>
bridge at dingmans ferry just to make sure there was<br/>
no nasty state line sign there in the middle of the<br/>
river<br/>
<br/>
& can report there certainly wasnt <br/>
in either direction<br/>
in further support of the condo thesis <br/>
<br/>
<br/>
when i did finally reach njnypa<br/>
i revised the trifinial diagram as shown in the 4th<br/>
pic<br/>
<br/>
the njny alignment looked good against a likely state<br/>
line fence on the far side of the neversink<br/>
so i kept & prolonged it<br/>
& a visual alignment with the next lower cape on the<br/>
left bank produced the perfect tee you see<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
the presumed nw corner of the condo <br/>
almost under the freeway on the right bank of the<br/>
delaware<br/>
isnt easily accessible<br/>
<br/>
no marker pops into sight there tho<br/>
neither from the tri states monument just across the<br/>
river <br/>
nor looking down from as close as you can get on the<br/>
overpass<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
as for the other prominent features of the tour<br/>
which might thus also prefigure our bp year<br/>
i would just add that my overall impression was of a<br/>
particularly lovely stretch of narrow winding road<br/>
thru mostly wooded country beside icy ponds & racing<br/>
brooks with names like dwarfs kill & indeed looking<br/>
entirely suitable for elves gnomes etc<br/>
