basically what happened is
ethiopia wanted to reopen some questions about the
alignment while the demarcation moved westward from
djeret to eretsd
& eritrea didnt want to talk or hear of it
since the adjudication had supposedly been final &
binding

& eritrea wouldnt proceed west under threat of such a
work stoppage
so the work of the demarcation commission was
summarily stopped in process
with djeret thus remaining technically as well as
legally incomplete

there was no such problem btw with the west terminal
of eret at eretsd
since that is an already established point in a wadi
confluence

many sources like multimap just say or suggest mount
musa ali is at or near the djeret tripoint
but that would of course just be because it lies
coincidentally about 60 miles from the coast

the extreme poignancy of the situation there at this
time tho is that the newly established tripoint
position could even still become lost in all this
extreme wilderness if eritrea is so foolish as to
provoke ethiopia to make a reach for the sea just now
& thus possibly even disconnect eritrea from djibouti
& any possibility of their or our ever reaching djeret
