after some initial reticence followed by a long delay<br/>
the fairfield historical society just called me back<br/>
to confirm they would be conducting my research for me<br/>
with some real attention now<br/>
& i think also to make sure they heard me say <br/>
oldest boundary marker in america<br/>
which i again did<br/>

of course i can always just go down there & poke<br/>
around myself too<br/>
& may have to do that in the end anyway<br/>
to satisfy all my points of curiosity<br/>
but this is quite exhilarating to see them on the case<br/>
like this<br/>
