hi
nice question
nor is this the first time barak has eluded us

but if your article is correct in stating that it is
less than an hours drive northwest of osh
as well as only 3 km from kguz major
then we can guess it is near the place on this map
where the road connecting osh & andijan is shown
crossing the border
http://www.un.org/Depts/Cartographic/map/profile/kyrgysta.pdf

& here hopefully is a slightly more zoomable map for
the same location
http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/MapCenter/Map.aspx?TextLatitude=39.45&TextLongitude=-98.907&TextAltitude=0&TextSelectedEntity=39070&SearchEnc=false&MapStyle=Comprehensive&MapSize=Small&MapStyleSelectedIndex=0&searchTextMap=osh&MapStylesList=Comprehensive&ZoomOnMapClickCheck=on
but still no evidence of anything more than the
general location

on this map tho is a locality named tash ata
near the anticipated location of the mentioned border
village of ak tash
tho the border & the road themselves are also not
shown as expected
http://multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=8100000&Y=4950000&width=500&height=300&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=mercator&db=w3&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=0&scale=2000000&multimap.x=252&multimap.y=180
so this may or may not be a steer in the right
direction after all

good luck & let us know if you find anything more
promising
