tho perfectly content to wait for may day
the date ordained by the tree
for my improved 7th try at lelnwa aka the former
lelewa
it was still hard for me to turn up my nose entirely
at the nearly perfect trypointing conditions that
prevailed around here today
so i made an impromptu try for a different berkshire
tripoint in the meantime
namely aleggr
or alford egremont great barrington
just to see what would happen

part of my motivation was
in following up on a string of 10 successive perfect
visits
to perhaps sidestep the difficulty of completing
lelnwa
by deviating from the established tho meaningless
sequence
& close out any 11th berkshire tripoint that i might
from among the total of 44 available
to finally complete the first quarter of play
entirely class a

& normally this might not even have been a
consideration at all
since any earnest try is after all a complete try of
sorts
even if the objective remains elusive
& so the first quarter of trying anyway really ended
long ago
as soon as the 11th point was tried
with a line score of aaaaaaaaaae

but it has come to my attention that berkshire county
is really quite remarkable in having not a single wet
internal tripoint
& therefore having supposedly all 44 of its tri
berkshire points directly marked & accessible to
verifiably perfect visitation

so the berkshires present a possibly unique or
certainly a very rare opportunity for aspiring &
attaining to a sort of completion or perfection

& it is an appealing thing to even contemplate

so you understand i could not simply or easily accept
a class e result even very temporarily in this case

& headed impulsively up to aleggr this morning
since she happens to be the closest untried one to
cream hill here
& she looks easy enough on the topo
http://terraserver.microsoft.com/image.aspx?T=2&S=11&Z=18&X=1576&Y=11686&W=1&qs=%7calford%7cma%7c
& i found the road stone ok albeit dashed to bits in
the drainage ditch

but the tripoint herself gets tricky on the ground as
you can see by comparing the actual aerial view
http://terraserver.microsoft.com/image.aspx?T=1&S=11&Z=18&X=1576&Y=11686&W=1&qs=%7calford%7cma%7c
as i myself also just did
but too late to banish my initial mystification on the
spot
or rather some distance from the spot
caused by lots of woods erroneously depicted as
pasture on the topo

plus there is a lot of closely held private property
around there to complicate things
etc etc

indeed i was even ready to call in the gps receivers
again
hahaha
but not so fast again too
since i now see this one is worth another low tech try
first also

& as i have already solved the problem of
inconspicuous access
the expectation is now again actually quite favorable
there

but the upshot of the day is that the end of the first
quarter of perfect play remains elusive
& there is as yet no cosmic sanction for going out of
order
even if the established sequence is apparently
meaningless & unsustainable in any case
