yess
& yesss
is the short of it

& the medium is
everyone performed class a
euphorically at first & in the end ecstatically

& the long form
with complete box score
follows here
for anyone who can stand to laugh that hard

since it was already after noon when i set out from
cream hill with only 1 shot left in my trusty old
polaroid
i really had very little hope or expectation of
scoring twice today

so i took my time & even chose the slightly longer
approach to eggrsh
gliding up undermountain road & past the berkshire
school of fresh tripointing fame once again
where i already feel like a fully matriculated &
performing musician

& duly paid my salutes to alma mater on my proud way
out to these my first postgraduate berkshire gigs

& as i reached the preselected jumpoff point mentioned
in the previous post
where it says here
battlesite mon
at bottom center
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4668757.00011747&e=633100.000004677&datum=nad83
i was surprised to find a trailhead parking lot
waiting for me there too
& staggered to realize this was because the
appalachian trail had just been rerouted right thru
there & was even heading due north from the battlesite
mon toward eggrsh as if just for my personal benefit

& tho the mon was a highly photogenic mid19th century
rock
commemorating the last battle of shays rebellion 27
feb 1787
& tho i was also met there by an actually living
battlesite mon too
who had in fact just helped reenact the battle of
lexington
on the battle site mon
& invited me to attend his forthcoming reenactment of
shays right there too on its 220th anniversary
on 27 feb 2007
can you dig it
like be there or be square
& bring a fat joint
nevertheless i of course had to save my only shot for
eggrsh
the main event
which was still a bucolic idyllic country mile away

so i headed up the appalachian trail in exactly the
right direction
tho of course it isnt shown on the topo this time

but the trail soon veered right & climbed the hill to
the east
so i split off
or rather continued straight north
thru cornstubble & greensward & wooded swamp
til i spotted at a distance the companion marker that
told me i was already within half a mile of my
intended multidimensionalization

& i slogged across the intervening wetland & bagged
this preliminary monument as it were
but for no other reason than to get a terminal fix &
pace count toward eggrsh

the difficulty at that point tho was that my projected
650 yard bushwhack to just west of midnight ran
straight across a marsh

so i was able to perform this bushwhack only at an
eastward remove or rectangulation of about 180 yards
for a while

& as i then soon angled back toward egsh where the
footing permitted it
i found i had lost count of both my northward &
lateral pace counts
hahahaha
since it is so tricky to walk & chew with both brains
at once
& finally reached the blessed state of complete
cluelessness both as to where i was & where i was
going

& after flailing & lunging about randomly for awhile
in the hope of getting lucky
i admitted that i really needed to go back to a
previous known
or else find some new point of certainty
rather than trying to proceed in such a
multidimensional morass

& had to wonder if i had been addressing her eggrsh
with enough regard to gain her needed favor in my
quest

but in my retreat i soon came upon a fix point
namely
the north edge of the cultivated field shown on the
topo just west of midway between the 2 markers

which instructed me to take 350 paces to midnight

easy enough
but these are marshy woods
& i was soon again skulking east onto dry ground
& losing my count as well as my bearing
when i noticed a line of pink tape blazes
approximating & indeed fairly proclaiming egsh
for anyone with eyes to presume it

so i had regained my line
& didnt need my count if the blazes led to the
tripoint
as i by then strongly believed they would

so onward into the swamp until it got really soupy
at which point i was forced to shirk eastward again
& hope to recover the pink blaze line at the opposite
side of what i then realized was nothing less than
hubbard brook coming down vossburg hill & fanning out
there just south of the triarea
tho not very clearly shown as such on the topo
hahaha

& only after slogging around & searching back intently
for quite a while did i catch sight of the pink blazes
again
only now on the correct side of the swamp
& knew they could only lead straight to my objective

which soon emerged in the woods directly ahead of me
at point blank range

photo to come as soon as i can replace my dead mouse
batteries
but she looks much like her agemate egmosh
except she slouches badly & wears 2 pink ribbons
& about a foot of her undressed base is showing above
the swamp floor

had a harder time getting out of the swamp than in tho
hahaha
until i eventually found an easy ford that i would
have used in both directions had i known of it

by then the day was slipping away
& i knew there would be no time to get both film &
grnesh
so of course i beelined toward grnesh
hoping to just scope her out & return another time for
the actual try if she offered the least resistance
this time
since i would need to return for the pic anyway

& will continue with her soon in a separate message
but you can imagine me in the meantime racing east
across grsh & rush hour traffic toward new marlborough
the ne of grnesh
