started up with a midnight realization that i had been<br/>
addressing my objective by the wrong name<br/>
of egshmw <br/>
owing to an inadvertent misalphabetizing of its<br/>
component diglyphs<br/>
<br/>
& had been hideously mispronouncing it too <br/>
as egg shmoo<br/>
rather than properly saluting it by its best available<br/>
name <br/>
which i see now should actually be written egmwsh <br/>
& presumably uttered eggmoosh<br/>
<br/>
which could entirely explain the extreme elusiveness<br/>
this point has repaid me with so far<br/>
<br/>
& bodes very well indeed for my new improved retry<br/>
already under way<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
& which has also just led to the next most important<br/>
realization <br/>
which is <br/>
that tho the lower gate in salisbury can be expected<br/>
to open like clockwork around this time every year<br/>
the more important upper gate <br/>
on the mt everett reservation road <br/>
may not be about to open at all<br/>
as this site implies<br/>

so <br/>
that easy 4 mile jaunt down from & then back up to<br/>
guilder pond that i was looking forward to<br/>
has deteriorated once again into a much more committed<br/>
8 mile hike from east street over the top of the ridge<br/>
& back<br/>

yet that is actually good news<br/>
for it makes me reconsider the next best option<br/>
which was to return to the maintenance road that leads<br/>
halfway up the mountain from the berkshire school to<br/>
the foot of the high cascade<br/>
& then to either sawanabori straight up until i can<br/>
circle back across the ledge<br/>
or else climb the adjacent elbow trail up to the<br/>
appalachian trail on the ridge & close in from there<br/>
by bushwhacking along egmw<br/>
which should also be a well blazed forest boundary<br/>
line<br/>

all of which you can see just west of the berkshire<br/>
school<br/>
on both the topo & this more current trail map<br/>

except for the maintenance road itself<br/>
which isnt on either of them<br/>

more or less directly below the tripoint & probably<br/>
not more than a few hundred yards away from it<br/>
horizontally <br/>
as well as vertically<br/>
best i can tell so far anyway<br/>

so without further ado<br/>
its off to school again & as straight up as i can go<br/>

btw & also overnight here<br/>
pakistan did indeed win the cricket rematch against<br/>
all odds<br/>
coming from nowhere & evening off the overall series <br/>
at visitors all & home team zero<br/>

& the heavily indian crowd did get a little pissed at<br/>
their team<br/>
hahaha<br/>
but all remains well <br/>
as the leaders huddle one last time <br/>
before their parting embrace scheduled for later today<br/>
