<div>deposited me at the navajo&nbsp;front gate of the monument just after sunset last evening as the toll collectors were shutting &amp; locking the place tight for the night</div>

<div>&amp; the ute backdoor approach btw i realized is highly impractical &amp; improbable</div>

<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>the tourists kept coming tho for about another hour &amp; turning themselves away in varying shades of disappointment or relief</div>
<div>but as soon as things got really dark &amp; quiet </div>
<div>since the moon would soon be rising</div>
<div>i seized the first clear opportunity to jump the gate &amp;&nbsp;quickly stride&nbsp;the&nbsp;few hundred purloined&nbsp;yards&nbsp;to count coup with my right hand on the great megapoint in the dark </div>
<div>for the first&nbsp;such visit&nbsp;ever reported</div>

<div>too cold &amp; windy to sleep on it tho</div>
<div>&amp; the flagstaffs were clanging eerily on the poles</div>

<div>i kept expecting someone would turn on the floodlights too</div>
<div>&amp; lead me away at spear or arrow point</div>

<div>couldnt see much</div>
<div>&amp; kept stumbling over stuff in the dark</div>
<div>but i believe i can confirm that the tariff has already risen from a mere&nbsp;parking fee of a buck &amp; a half per vehicle as of a couple years ago to an actual admission fee of 3 bucks a head as of yesterday</div>
<div>with no limit in sight</div>
<div>in case you are also planning to visit some er day</div>

<div>then continued on my merry trajectory thru navajoland by trying to find the internet &amp; post from the&nbsp;jeddito counterclave</div>
<div>as well as from within the hopiland outclave surrounding it</div>

<div>elusive &amp; elusive i must report</div>

<div>met the local pretty girls tho</div>
<div>&amp; made at least a first reported try to beep from within a clave</div>
<div>let alone a claves clave</div>

<div>&amp; am now on a fresh quest or 2</div>
