not just to add trumpet flourishes & drumrolls
but because all this & more really happened

realizing only in the wee hours this morning that any authentic
mormon tour of utah would have to include
beside the 6 corners of the state
the mormon temple corner meridian baseline point in downtown salt lake
as previously reported by jack
so neatly situated at the corner of sacred & profane
aka south temple & main
thus making a total of 7 points or 1 for each wife
i took the opportunity to run down there & bag that baby too
class a
as usual for this entire tour of standing rocks

on the way down the canyon i saw a freakin cougar just ambling
casually in the dead of night on the shoulder of interstate 80
& on the way back up here in the morning a red fox sauntering from
the freeway across a long snowfield about 10 minutes from downtown

& then later this morning
on a first bungled try for the grand finale corner northeast of here
my dodge just dodged an elk
& i met & chatted with a standing moose
as i was going upcanyon
& coming down a badger shuffled across the road in front of me

man it has been a total zoo up here
& all this is just the highlights since my previous post

er yes thats right
i have already bungled the coup de grace
just by being so casual as to try it first my favorite way
by cold guessing & dead reckoning

i am not even sure yet if i undershot or overshot it

so now i am back in the library to research it properly

my 3rd visit to coalville in what 12 hours

but having already encountered so many auspicious & propitious
portents
i can only think
this must be not only the place but the time as well

not a bad place to have to try all over again too
