it didnt require a multipoint nor even a living clave or dead wall of
any kind to get me out exploring this fantastically multicolored
neighborhood this morning
while admittedly not wanting to stray too far from my pub of choice
for this evening
so i set my sights on the nearby but humble & simple extreme point wvs
which just happens to be more easily reached from out of state anyway
for it is back of beyond & over the top in west virginia
while a paved county road leads right up to it from here in virginia
i was earnestly & somewhat excitedly expecting at least something
even if not on the order of the 4foot standing rock that marks the
thematically & functionally comparable southernmost point of eastern
west virginia wves
but in the event found nothing
& could only feel the pavement end with my toes
under piles of fresh leaves
just before the road fork
as depicted
which is evidently entirely in west virginia
or is at least entirely unpaved
tho it seems clear enough that the geodetic sector of vawv converging
from the east must end near here
& equally clear that a road center line sector is also converging
from the northwest
there is depicted on the usgs topo a suspiciously nondescript looking
jughandle shaped stitch connecting these 2 sectors
admittedly
some stitch is needed to connect them since they appear to not quite
meet up of their own accord
but it is evidently the southernmost point of this anomalous stitch
rather than of both convergents that actually determines the true wvs
point
yikes
or at least thats how the topo makes it look
for none of this can be read on the ground
& perhaps
once again
the truth will only be found in some verbal description somewhere
