 </span></blockquote>Good question. The term &#39;United Kingdom and Colonies&#39; used to be used, but <br/>
that fell out of use when the crown colonies were transformed into <br/>
dependent territories (renamed as overseas territories since 1997).<br/>

In all honesty though, with the exception of Gibraltar and the Falkland <br/>
Islands, there isn&#39;t much awareness of the overseas entities within the UK, <br/>
so the lack of collective name is not an issue for anyone except gazetteers.<br/>
