or &quot;Welcome to the R.o.I.&quot;-signs. The &quot;Welcome to France&quot; or &quot;Welcome <br/>
to Spain&quot; signs on the inner Basque border usually don&#39;t last very <br/>
long, either.<br/>

Which goes for all signs with text in areas where there is a <br/>
territorial or language conflict. Trying to find your way around <br/>
without a map in such areas may be very difficult, with all those <br/>
signs painted over.<br/>
