Just to the northeast of the road I just sent pictures of they’re building a new residential subdivision immediately on both sides of the border. Again, about 100 meters from the main road (see last posting), there’s another small, newer road that crosses the small stream in the new subdivision. The homes are beautiful and expensive. There is again no distinction that you are crossing from N to S at all. The only noticeable features are 1) that there’s a break in pavement on the bridge; and 2) the homes are a slightly different style and the subdivision is engineered differently in terms of sidewalks, yards, distances from the road, etc, reflecting, I think at least, differences in planning approvals in the two adjacent counties.

1)       The first picture here is of the new bridge that was built over the border stream in the new housing estate. There is a break in pavement, but the bridge materials are uniform.

2)       Picture 011 is the bridge and border stream in the middle with the new houses on the Republic side.

3)       Picture 012 is a bit further to my left. The same housing estate, though. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of the Northern Ireland housing estate behind me.
