for some reason doesnt recite the 3 billion dollar amount of the
reported auidtle & auidtlw settlement

& unless this omission hints at some still outstanding problem
it is very likely that the deal is indeed already done as reported

& so my eventual question here will most likely become moot

until perhaps revived somewhere else on the planet

but the article also reveals that the ozzie legal flack
professor gillian triggs
while calling impeccable & fair the autl line agreed between
indonesia & australia while east timor was an occupied nation
has at least learned since message 14099 that east timor does
indeed have a continental shelf too
just like oz

yet she & oz persist in their view that unclos does not call for a
median line under the geologic conditions that obtain in the
timor gap

but can anyone answer this seemingly simple question

what is the legal truth or spec there if any
at least hypothetically
if not by precedent

is it a median line between coastal base lines
or
a median line between continental shelves
or
no median line called for at all but just some political settlement
or
exactly what is supposed to be the default reality here anyway
