 </span></blockquote>The police force is actually known as &#39;Lothian and Borders&#39; and covers the <br/>
area of the Borders unitary district, plus the four unitary districts <br/>
around Edinburgh (which formerly made-up the Lothian Region). It is a <br/>
regular police force and has nothing to do with patrolling the <br/>
England-Scotland border which is completely open anyway.<br/>
