plus many dozens of ellicott mounds too which also still exist<br/>

indeed ellicott could fairly be called the father of american tripointing<br/>
since he is believed to have visited &or marked about 20 tristate points by <br/>
1819<br/>
an incredible accomplishment in view of the state of transportation<br/>
not to mention the paucity of states<br/>
during his lifetime<br/>

attached are a pic of a rather punctilious visit to gancsc class b<br/>
& another pic showing all that can still be seen<br/>
hopefully<br/>
of the original inscription on the gancsc ellicott rock<br/>
which actually witnesses this tripoint in his own words & hand<br/>
<br/>
the try pointer is planted in the middle of the chattooga river<br/>
facing straight up the ncsc line toward both of your ellicott rocks <br/>
simultaneously<br/>
one of them in his clear view<br/>
<br/>
indeed the photographer jc is standing on top of it<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
one of the loveliest & most pristine tristate locations in america<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
& a megapointing footnote bonus<br/>
<br/>
as your map also shows<br/>
gancsc is not only a tristate point but a probable quadricounty point too<br/>
<br/>
yet perhaps it is only a penequadricounty point in truth<br/>
since the gasc regime is believed to differ slightly from the convergent nc <br/>
county line regime<br/>
