bullhead city az

returned today to the scene of my earlier class b canoe visit
to find the seadoos thankfully on vacation for the winter
but the sight line between the true witness marks obscured by veggies

so for perfect tripoint location bring a saw now & expect to cut wood

then you will be able to stand on top of marker 1b above the east
bank & sight a third of a mile upstream
& indeed right up the butt end of the famously oblique canv line
to the edge of an entering the reservation sign that stands directly
over marker 1a above the west bank

& you will be able to see at what point on the river your sight line
crosses the centerline of the channel

& the point of that line intersection will be azcanv

both markers btw are 1964 usgs discs in concrete cowflops
as per the usgs topo
& both are supported by mated pairs of backup pointer marks at short
distances

however even without a clear sight line the tripoint position can
still be gauged fairly accurately by means of indirect sighting

& because the water was low & much of the channel was exposed i was
able to wade out to midchannel this time to my well guessed position
for a class b standing still
rather than a class b paddling past for all i was worth before the
seadoos returned

a substantial improvement i would say

the bogus taller & older marker btw is only about 10 feet off line
to the east but about 800 feet too far upstream

now for death valley by moonlight with a shovel
