i was expecting bwzw to look straighter than shown here<br/>
since it has been described as a row of beacons<br/>
which i think may indicate a very straight line indeed<br/>
as of a series of intervisible monuments<br/>
so there could be a lot of spurious accuracy in all this depiction<br/>
just as in the characterization of impalila or mpalila island & <br/>
lodge as adjacent to the quadriarea <br/>
since they are clearly in normal stage 1 to 10 km west of it<br/>

your map does however make it absolutely certain that sedudu <br/>
island & the 1999 icj decision are even farther off point than that<br/>
hahaha<br/>
so happily you have already spared me from demonstrating that <br/>
much of my ignorance for sure<br/>
<br/>
other nice new details in all this for us are the kakumba mudflats <br/>
that actually adjoin the quadriarea on the namibian side<br/>
& the reversible chobe zambezi side channel between them & <br/>
impalila island<br/>
the head of which <br/>
a full kilometer higher up the zambezi<br/>
is most probably the true thalweg junction in times of reverse <br/>
flow<br/>
<br/>
& that is a possible complication which makes it all the more <br/>
important to determine whether there has been a legal diversion <br/>
of nazm from the living zambezi thalweg to a series of plotted <br/>
points since the 1930s<br/>
<br/>
for yikes such a reverse flow might even make the kakumba flats <br/>
botswanan territory for the duration of the abnormality<br/>
regardless of whether nazm had already been legally fixed all the <br/>
way down the zambezi to the chobe thalweg junction as it existed <br/>
& was depicted in 1931<br/>
since that would only bind nazm in any case <br/>
while bwna has always followed the living chobe thalweg only<br/>
hahaha<br/>
so there is quite an additional puzzle if a temporarily reversed & <br/>
displaced thalweg is legally still the thalweg<br/>
<br/>
this smacks more of avulsion & disavulsion than accretion tho<br/>
so i am entirely puzzled about both whether & how to address it<br/>
<br/>
but anyway i am glad & grateful that all this new input gives me <br/>
enough pause to want to go back to brownlie<br/>
before proceeding further<br/>
