the vawv plat attached to message 10699 & the other <br/>
prospective new mdvawv data reported en route to it have indeed <br/>
been confirmed & ratified by both va & wv<br/>

& the water line used for the termination point of the survey was <br/>
merely the water line that chanced to obtain at the time of the <br/>
survey in march of 1997<br/>

the surveyor couldnt even characterize it as having been high or <br/>
medium or low water stage<br/>
<br/>
but when i told him that the statutory limit of maryland falls at low <br/>
water line<br/>
he agreed the final segment as surveyed would undoubtedly just <br/>
be assumed to continue thru the specified survey terminal point <br/>
without deviation until it reached the low water line<br/>
<br/>
exactly where this low water line lies<br/>
or how it might be characterized & precisely identified<br/>
& whether it is the mean low or the lowest low water line<br/>
is not specified in any charter or statute or plat<br/>
<br/>
but since the exact alignment of the terminal segment of vawv <br/>
can be found experimentally as the sight line proceeding thru <br/>
monuments 29a & 30a <br/>
both in plain view just off the shoulders of the highway<br/>
point seekers can now make their best mdvawv try ever on any <br/>
given day by simply eyeballing & following the monument <br/>
alignment down to the water line & as far beyond as possible or <br/>
safe under the conditions<br/>
<br/>
only in extreme drought could mdvawv be expected to be <br/>
reachable with a foot on dry land<br/>
but at least its alignment if not yet its exact position is now highly <br/>
presumptive <br/>
& a simple & reliable method is finally ready for use by whoever <br/>
makes the next try<br/>
which for this reason will likely be the best in history<br/>
a clear class c or clean class b<br/>
even if not yet an absolute class a<br/>
except <br/>
perhaps <br/>
on the very rare occasion of slackest water<br/>
since only then will the location of the low water line be even <br/>
roughly surmisable<br/>
